Most things happen on the front-end side but I needed to implement some tricky stuff in WordPress.
The website is not solely post-oriented like most WP sites but its strongly focused on attachments. It displays images in query loops filtering by custom taxonomies which are registered for attachment post type.
The interesting part was the implementation of attachment status. The admin needed to be able to switch attachment visibility making it either private (not shown at all) or inheriting the display status from the post it was attached to.
I also made use of quite a forgotten WP feature named Post Formats to differentiate entries to Stories and News.
